| First 10,000 Life Fish, Jobs & Future - MCA activity for Life and Growth 2009-08-04 |
First 10,000 Life Fish, Jobs & Future - MCA activity for Life and Growth... We were that day at a bigger Fishing Boat donation at the delta, 50 of the 21-foot fishing boats again for cyclone-struck families MCA could organise under the umbrella of LOG - Germany with the support of MHW, BWA, Action Myanmar e.V. - all Germany through their many supporters. With our MCA Delta member and honorable, Kyi Hoke, "Yami Yappa"(meaning father of the Village in Myanmar language) the Myanmar Chefs Association arranged 10,000 young life fish to be released into the Ayerwaddy River waters. Freed for life but also freed for a future to all people living there at the river and channels. It was the kick-start of a new MCA initiative to help private fish farmers breed river fish and have them than released to the open river waters. Here we support the fish farmer, all his employees through upcoming new job opportunities, all boat people involved and later the fisher families through a boost of fish amount in the delta rivers. US$60 for 1,000 fish (for 5000 fish = US$300 we arrange your private Live Fish Donation) only is our new goal. Up to now we have received many more donors for fish and nature support at the cyclone-struck delta. In Buddhist ways as well as in other religions, it is also a good deed to give life to nature, be it fish, birds or anything else. So naturally, all MCA members that day as well all people from the village which supported us there on the river felt very happy to be part of such a ceremony. The fishermen told us that for all future life fish donation they would like us to use, Nga Myit Gin as well Nga Dan (in english- Butterfish), as they grow well to a good size and have a lot of meat, less bones, good value for money at all local markets. Nga Dan – Butterfish is also the most popular in Myanmar Cuisine, as well for any other cuisine. It is a fish which you can steam, BBQ, cook in curry, pan-fry, carpaccio etc. In Myanmar a kilogramme is sold at only US$2 to US$4 (headless). Try at your next trip to Myanmar the "Butter Fish curry with Inle Tomatoes and fresh Corriander ", or "Tempura with fresh Tamarind Ginger Sauce". We would like also to thank Gyi Ngwe Vice Chairman from the Myanmar Fisheries federation to give us the hint in this direction, again it had proven to be a best cooperation and communication between MCA and the Myanmar Fisheries federation. Everyone felt very happy and we arrived back to Yangon knowing that a beautiful day had seen many good things, yours Oliver E Soe Thet Related Story: Sustainable Life Aid Projects by MCA |
