Like

Association of Young Chefs celebrate this first unique
day of chefs in Brazzaville, with Culinary Demonstration
Shows live on the Congolese National T.V.
For the first time ever in our national TV, Congolese
Chefs with their surprise guests among them a Belgium
Woman Chef PATRICIA who show to the Congolese public
at large some cooking secret of the Belgium delicacy
: `` Fish tartar with Congolese mango and lemon juice``.
Members of the Congolese National Team thank the Congolese
public for their Full support , even if they missed
to participate to IKA or Culinary Olympics 2004; the
most important thing is that people have started to
know the importance of Cooking, and Cooking as a Competition
whereby the cooks and chefs of the world compete,
show their skills and learn from each other ; like
the culinary Olympic spirit which all chefs showed
at IKA 2004.
Chefs
did their cooking demonstration in from of the public
invited by showing their cooking talents and secrets
in starters, Congolese Traditional cooking specialty
``LIBOKE`` , desserts, plated cakes and lastly barbecue
meat and fishes where served to the public to close
the Show at 14.00; the show started at 11.00, that
is to say it took 3 hours. That was the first time
that such a cooking Demonstrations were shown live
on T.V.
The
Day did not finish there ; all the day and all the
week long the Chefs Day was advertised and promoted
on Radio stations and newspapers.
As a Continuation, on the 24th October 2004 from 10.00
to 13.00 at the Soeur FRANCOIS REGIS Professional
School; cooking demonstrations were organize by the
Congolese Chefs Association and the management of
this school to give chance to Chefs, students and
housewives to show, share their cooking skills and
experiences to the public. As said the President of
the Congolese Association of Young Chefs ; TOUDISSA
MALANDA HONOR : `` it is no more a secrete, chefs
are in front of you; see, learn, and do it at home
``. it was a nice experience to the public at large
and they suggested to us to do more cooking demonstration
for promoting cooking skills and improve the image
of Congolese cooks and chefs, and particularly the
housewives who are the prime victims of lack of consideration
of this profession due to ignorance of the Congolese
people.
To
sum up a Radio Station live debate was organize at
RADIO LIBERTE on this subject : `` The place of the
Cooks and Chefs in the Congolese Society `` on the
31st October 2004 , from 21.00 to 22.00.
The International Chefs Day gave a large coverage
of Cooking activities in most Congolese media without
exception; which has given people something to think
about this neglected activity and fellows ; cuisine
and Congolese cooks, chefs and housewives.
