Results - Global Chefs’ Challenge Continental Finals for the Americas The World Association of Chefs Societies (WACS) is very pleased to announce the results of the Global Chefs’ Challenge Continental Finals for the Americas held on July 21, 2007, in Orlando, Florida. First place - Gold Medal Second place – Silver Medal Third place – Bronze Medal Other participating countries are USA, Brazil, Bahamas, Canada, Chile, Guatemala, Bolivia, Peru, Venezuela, and Uruguay.

Caption: Joe Hardiman, President of Orlando Culinary Academy, welcomes Chef Reimund Pitz, WACS Culinary Committee Chair, to the Orlando Culinary Academy, a Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Program. On July 20, 2007, from 3 p.m. – 5:00 p.m., the competitors will have orientation, review the mystery basket and will draw for starting times for the competition the following day. On July 21, 2007, from 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., the competition takes place. Immediately following the competition, a small reception will be held for the competitors and judges. The following chefs will be competing for the opportunity to represent the Americas in the Finals for the WACS Global Chefs’ Challenge in Dubai in May 2008. | |||||||||||||||||||||

Two more countries participating in this competition are Bolivia and Uruguay. Hutter Beverage Judge - Tim Timlin The Official WACS Observer will be Robert Oppeneder from Germany. All competitors will receive a WACS Global Chefs’ Challenge certificate and the winner will receive a WACS competition medal. On July 22, 2007, the presentation will take place on the trade show floor during the ACF national convention at 3:00 p.m. at the Orlando World Center Marriott.
